Zelda Williams, daughter of the comedian/actor Robin Williams, decides to take a break from social media as her late father’s death anniversary approaches. Zelda announced on Instagram last Sunday about her decision so she won’t be bombarded by comments of netizens.
In her post, she said: “So it’s that time of the year again. I will be taking another break off social media.”
“…It’s so people can memorialize Dad on the anniversary of his death however they wish without me having to feel bombarded by it, or pressured by the expectation put on myself or my family to publicly acknowledge or join in doing so,” she explained.
23-year old Zelda appreciates everyone who remembers her dad, but obviously it’s still hard for her to receive all the sentiments that the public is giving her and their family. In fact, in her post she added the phrase, “Hearts just need little breaks sometimes!”
Zelda finished his post by inviting everyone to who wishes to celebrate the life of her late father through donating and serving two charities, Reeve Foundation and CA Foundation.
Robin Williams took his own life on August 11, 2014. According to his wife, her husband’s suicide was brought about by having Lewy Body Dementia.
