Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross of Suits) and Toian Bellisario (Spencer of Pretty Little Liars) tied the knot last weekend in a wedding event like no other. In some place in Southern California, the two exchanged vows in a bohemian-themed wedding with the hashtag #fortday2016.
Curious about what that means? The groom explained in his Instagram post the history behind it, saying:
“8 years ago we built a pillow fort in my old apartment and started a conversation that has grown into a whole life. It was just a quiet shared idea that became a yearly tradition. This year we invited some more people. A lot more. And we made a wedding out of it. Three perfect days with friends and family. Kids screaming and laughing in the pool shouting “Fort Day” at the top of their lungs. Our incredible tribe lifting us up the same way they have for so many years. It’s impossible to put into words how it all felt. Filled with so much gratitude that I’m lucky enough to have married my best friend. Love you @sleepinthegardn – can’t wait to see what happens next.”
The entire wedding weekend was a grand camp experience for the couple and their 200 guests who were asked to donate to David Suzuki Foundation and SickKids Hospital in lieu of gifts. They had glamping tents prepared for the guests which include their co-stars like Gabriel Macht, Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Sarah Rafferty, and Chris Pine.
It was also the groom himself who drove the guests in a super cool converted school bus with a text saying “Almost Married.”
The reception looked perfectly ethereal with the enchanting woody details.
And of course, the two were perfect as they sealed the night with a beautiful dance showing how much they love each other.
The pair dated three years and got engaged in February 2014.
