If you are a fan of the Spice Girls, you are in for a treat. Three out of the five original Spice Girls, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, and Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, have formed a new group called ‘GEM’ and are teasing their fans with a new promo. The GEM trio released a 40-second video to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their widely known 1996 smash “Wannabe” and they titled it “Spice Girls GEM”.
The trio derived the name ‘GEM’ from their first name initials namely Geri, Emma, and Melanie. The other members of the iconic group, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm and Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham were not featured in the video clip, and have kept mum on being involved in the reunion.
In the video, Brown begins by saying, “We’ve been thinking, we have the best fans in the whole entire world,” Then Halliwell adds, “You’ve stood by us for 20 years, and we want to say a big thank you.” While Bunton continues, “We’ve had our ups and downs, but you’ve always been there.” Then Brown jumps back in, “”And we want to celebrate and have a party.” Lastly, the GEM members yell in unison, “And when we do, you’re all invited!”
The 40 second video ends with large text written across the screen. “Happy 20th birthday to all our fans. This is a celebration for you! We hope to tell you soon, what you want, what you really really want. #WANNABE”
