If you are a Jack Sparrow fan, the next installment, ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’, has a huge surprise. Filming wrapped up last year in Australia, but directors Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronnin and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have decided to add a special scene, featuring none other than legendary Beatle, Paul McCartney. Sir Paul has just agreed to join Johnny Depp in the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, so filming has resumed in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Paul McCartney’s presence on the set will certainly create excitement for Pirate’s and Beatles fans alike. It may also add a new angle or flavor to the mega hit movie. Just the thought that Sir Paul will be seen alongside our favorite rogue captain is compelling enough to attract attention. However, mums the word on what role Sir Paul will play in the scene, but rest assured, a representative of Disney confirmed he will be centrally featured in the extra scene.
This will be the second time Disney has included a major musician in the Pirate’s franchise, the first being Rolling Stone guitarist, Keith Richards, as Captain Jack Sparrow’s father of the Pirates of the Caribbean: ‘At World’s End last 2007’.
There has been speculation that Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow role has been made shorter in this film to allow expansion for Javier Bardem’s character, villainous Captain Salazar, mostly because Depp has previously stated ‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ will likely be the last time Depp plays Captain Jack Sparrow. Which means, there may be future movies, just sans Jack Sparrow.
‘Dead Men Tell No Tales’ is expected to hit the theaters May 26, 2017.
