The current ‘Bachelor’, Juan Pablo Galavis made headlines when he publicly expressed his opinion that there should never be a gay version of the popular show. In fact, his actual comments were harsh.
‘There’s this thing about gay people… it seems to me, and I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not… but they’re more ‘pervert’ in a sense. And to me the show would be too strong… too hard to watch.’
He attempted to recover by blaming his faulty mastery of the English language, saying that his comments were taken out of context and he misspoke in error, but then he said he thought that gays were not positive influences for children, so we are thinking he really did mean what he said.
Regardless, it doesn’t look like there will be any tributes to a gay ‘Bachelor’ episode any time soon. The show’s host, Chris Harrison, says he fully supports gay marriage, but he thinks it is a deviation to the show’s current successful model and doesn’t think it would be well received by the public.
What do you think? Would you like to see a gay ‘Bachelor’ episode?
