The mega hit and highly anticipated Fast and Furious 8 is expected to hit movie theaters in May 2017, and the F&F franchise is adding a new face to its family. Scott Eastwood will join the cast as a trainee working under Kurt Russell’s personality, Mr. Nobody.
As the newest member of the F&F family, the 30-year old actor expressed his excitement about the role in an Instagram post. “It’s hard to put into words how excited I am for the next Fast & Furious,” he messaged. “To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It’s a legacy. These great actors who have been in it together for so long have become a family. I absolutely can’t wait to join it.”
The actor then switched his attention to Paul Walker, “Paul was a close friend of mine,” Scott wrote. “We surfed together, traveled together, and he was a huge role model and influencing figure in my life when I was younger. He still is. He was an older brother to me. For me to be able to add to the F&F story, Paul’s story, and the FAST family is like a dream come true.”
He ended his post by thanking producer Neal Moritz and director F.Gary Gray, and then by expressing appreciation for Vin Diesel’s insight and support. He also wrote a special heartfelt message to Paul, saying: “I am going to make you proud.”
