Harry Potter fans have another reason to rejoice. The acclaimed Harry Potter creator extraordinaire, J.K. Rowling has teamed up with Warner Bros Entertainment to bring another wizardry story to the screen by authoring her first screen play. This new creative venture will not be a prequel or sequel to the Harry Potter films, but is considered a companion book in that it provides extended knowledge of Harry’s world from a new perspective. Since Rowling is very selective about her projects, we can be assured that she strongly believes this story line to be as captivating, if not more, than the beloved Harry Potter series.
The new story, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is set in New York City in 1926, around 70 years before Harry’s adventures began , and the plot of the story unfolds around the main character of Newt Scamander. Newt has just traveled the world and finished up his book, Magizoology. He briefly stops in New York when an unexpected turn of events unleashes magical beast across the city that Newt must recapture.
Even though it’s been years since the last Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter Fans a.k.a. Potterheads are very excited to know that the magic continues to live on. Everyone is looking forward to the planned release date of Nov 18,2016 for the film. What’s even more exciting is Warner Bros big announcement of a confirmed movie trilogy. Yes, fellow muggles, it means we can expect two more follow up films in 2018 and 2020.
The news was also confirmed by the author, herself, in her Twitter Account.
David Yates, who directed the final Harry Potter installments, will also be directing the first movie “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, so hold onto your broomsticks and get ready for another amazing ride including more tales of witches and wizards later this year.
