Welcome to social media Berry! Nice to see you’ve figured out so swiftly how this entire social media thing works.
Oscar winner Halle Berry, 49, joined Twitter and Instagram on March 29, Tuesday, and shared a topless picture of herself, along with a line in her bio from Henry David Thoreau.
The veteran star appears to go topless in her first posted Instagram picture, which shows her back from the waist up in a bamboo-filled jungle. In the message along her picture, Berry said that the post is her first try to “reflect my emotions and perceptions”.
She captioned, “Hi everyone. Welcome! Today is a very exciting day for me… I’m looking forward to sharing our world through images that reflect my emotions and perceptions. I am in awe of photography and its ability to capture and reflect this extraordinary world that we live in. I’m excited to share with you my love of nature, the arts, fashion and much more in the hopes that the images will inspire, promote conversation and bring you joy. ❤ Halle.”
Halle Berry’s bio includes the quote of Thoreau, a 19th century philosopher: “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”
The X-men actress also made a tweet out of the picture with the same caption and her twitter bio also includes the same quote from Thoreau.
The Academy posted a shout-out to Berry – who also joined Pinterest on Tuesday – in tribute of her first tweet sharing a GIF of her recognition speech during Monster’s Ball Oscars 2002.
