German actress and former fashion model Diane Kruger is known for her extraordinary talent and timeless beauty. She first achieved fame in the early 90’s on the catwalk, and has since shown the world time and again what she is made of. She thought she had it all, until reality came crashing down upon her.
Covering the August 2016 issue of Town & Country, Kruger told the magazine about her major identity crisis.
“I had become arrogant,” Kruger expressed. “I had been a model, I spoke three languages, I had a career. I felt I had it all figured out. And then I realized that I was living this very privileged life in my own bubble that I created and I [didn’t] know anything about what [was] really going on in the world and I didn’t ask enough questions.”
After coming to terms with her ignorance, Kruger recognized that she needed to change
“I made a lot of different choices,” she told. “I cut people out of my life who I felt were enabling my bubble.”
In the interview, Kruger mentions how meeting her partner, fellow actor, Joshua Jackson, came at a critical time in her life. She accredits Jackson for helping her obtain a new lease on life.
“Meeting someone like my partner, who has a very different perspective, who likes to travel in a different way and be open to various experiences, was so important,” she claimed.
The pair began dating in 2006, shortly after Kruger divorced French actor, Guillaume Canet.
