Boy band fans of Backstreet Boys, Nsync, O-Town, and 98 Degrees have two new reasons to be excited. Members of the bands have teamed up for a movie venture and a single.
Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame, partnered with the makers of Sharknado to pen a Walking Dead inspired post-apocalyptic Zombie flick set in the old West called, Dead 7. “Think about it,” Carter who is also the project script co-writer told BuzzFeed last July 2015. “Boy-banders, people from the late ’90s, people who you love, fighting zombies in a post-apocalyptic world. Pretty crazy, right?” O-Town’s Erik-Michael Estrada and 98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons both appear in the SyFy flick.
In an effort to increase hype and draw attention to the movie, Nick Carter and AJ McLean teamed up with members of Nsync like Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick to record the theme track for Dead 7, ‘In the End’. The single is reminiscent of the 90’s boy band sound and is certain to bring back memories of inflatable furniture, Power Rangers, and scrunchies.
The much anticipated Dead 7 had it first airing SyFy April 1, Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
